Saint Innocent Orthodox Church

Media:  Iconography Project

Saint Innocent Orthodox Church commissioned renowned Orthodox iconographer Heather McKean to write icons on the front wall, within the altar area and the rear wall of the sanctuary.  The icons are painted on a single piece of canvas mounted on the wall and using egg tempera paint.  The canvas was precut to its dimensions and then mounted by a variety of church men.  The canvas was covered in art gecco to provide a surface that the paint could adhere too.

The front wall includes a variety of hand drawn and painted images including "The Resurrection", the "Theotokos and child" and a variety of angels and archangels.  The rear wall depicts "The Last Judgment" and is in progress currently.  The following are images of the rear wall iconography at various stages.  Be sure to check back regularly for additional updates and pictures.
