Father Mel Gimmaka graduated from Seattle Pacific University in 1967. After graduation, he worked for "Youth For Christ" in the Seattle Area. In 1977 he became a pastor in the Evangelical Orthodox Church and in 1987 was ordained into the canonical Orthodox Church by Metropolitan PHILIP of the Antiochian Orthodox Archdiocese of North America. He was elevated to Archpriest in 1999 and is the first and only pastor of St. Innocent Orthodox Church in Everson Washington. He has been married to his wife Carol since 1966; has two children and eight grandchildren.
Deacon Gregory Newman is an alumnus of Washington State University. He also received a Bachelor's Degree in Education from Western Washington University in 1976. He finished his Master's Degree in Education also from WWU in 1990. In 1976 he obtained a Graduate Course, Certificate of Completion, from Multnomah Bible College. He completed the St. Steven's Course in 1997 from the Antiochian Archdiocese House of Studies. He and his wife of 39 years have two daughters and seven grandchildren. Deacon Gregory makes his livelihood as a High School Social Studies teacher.
